Cupping therapy, as part of <em>thibbun nabawi</em>, is widely used as a complementary therapy in the management of hypertension. This study aimed to examine the effectiveness of cupping therapy in reducing blood pressure and cholesterol levels based on findings from previous studies. The method used was a literature review of national journals published between 2019 and 2024 employing pre-experimental and quasi-experimental study designs. The variables reviewed included systolic and diastolic blood pressure as well as total blood cholesterol levels. The results of the review indicate that cupping therapy has an effect on lowering blood pressure and cholesterol levels, although several studies reported methodological limitations. Consequently, modern exegesis adopts a rational, contextual, and interdisciplinary approach to understanding the verses of the Qur’an. This article aims to explain the concept of modern exegesis, examine critiques from both traditionalist and modernist circles, and analyze the methodological challenges present in modern exegesis. This study employs a literature review method with a descriptive-analytical approach through the examination of various books, journal articles, and relevant scholarly sources. The results indicate that modern exegesis plays a crucial role in maintaining the relevance of the Qur’an’s teachings amidst changing times, yet it also faces criticism for being perceived as overly emphasizing rationality and risking a departure from classical exegetical methodology. Conversely, modernists argue that the traditional approach is insufficiently responsive to contemporary issues. Furthermore, modern exegesis faces various methodological challenges, such as the use of hermeneutics, the subjectivity of exegetes, and the debate between textual and contextual approaches. This article provides a more comprehensive understanding of the critiques and methodological issues in modern exegesis, and emphasizes the importance of combining innovative approaches to exegesis with the fundamental principles of classical exegesis so that Qur’anic studies remain relevant and grounded in a strong scientific foundation. This study employed a qualitative descriptive method, involving 15 seventh-semester students and 10 students selected through purposive sampling as informants. Data were collected through observation, semi-structured interviews, and documentation, then analyzed using the Miles and Huberman interactive model, which includes data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results indicate that project-based learning through KOVID is effective in enhancing students’ multimedia skills, particularly in scriptwriting, visual design, audio recording, and video editing. A total of 12 out of 15 students showed significant improvement in producing integrated multimedia products. Additionally, there was an increase in students’ creativity, critical thinking, and self-confidence. This study contributes to the development of an innovative learning model that integrates project-based learning with digital media in madrasah teacher education.</p>2026-06-22T15:20:40+00:00##submission.copyrightStatement##
