Author Guideline

  • Articles should be typed with exactly 15 spacing, using Times New Roman font, size 12 pt, except for direct quotations which should be typed with exactly 12 spacing, before and after 6.
  • Articles must include an abstract in both English and Indonesian (150-200 words).
  • Articles must include keywords (3 - 5 words).
  • Local and non-English words must be italicized.
  • Blibliography should be cited using Mendeley or Zotero with APA Style 7th edition (body note).

All articles must be submitted via Online Submission at the e-journal portal address: https://ejournal.stitbima.ac.id/index.php/fitua/about/submissions , where authors register as Writers and/or are offered as Reviewers online. If authors encounter any issues related to online submission, please contact the Editorial Team at the following email: ejournal.fitua@gmail.com.

Manuscript Template

Manuscripts should be prepared according to the author guidelines provided in the article template.

Article Review

Each submitted paper is independently reviewed by at least two peer reviewers (Double-blind). The decision for publication, acceptance, or rejection is based on their reports/recommendations. If two reviewers consider the article unsuitable for publication in this journal, a statement explaining the basis of the decision will be sent to the author within three months from the submission date.

Article Revision

Articles returned to the author for revision must be promptly returned to the editor. Revised articles can be submitted via the Online Submission Interface https://ejournal.stitbima.ac.id/index.php/fitua,  Revised articles that are resubmitted after three months will be considered as new submissions.

Article Withdrawal

Authors are not allowed to withdraw articles submitted during the review process, as such withdrawal wastes valuable resources spent by editors and reviewers in processing the submitted manuscript. Withdrawal can be done upon direct request or without confirmation if the author does not submit a revised article. Under these circumstances, the author and their affiliation will be blacklisted from publishing in this journal.

Plagiarism Check

Editors will run a plagiarism check using Turnitin for submitted articles before sending them to reviewers. We do not process plagiarized content. If an article has more than 20% plagiarism based on Turnitin results, we will return the article to the author for revision regarding the plagiarized content.

Article Submission and Processing Fees

As an accredited SINTA journal, FiTUA: Journal of Islamic Studies is committed to maintaining high-quality scientific publications and providing the best services for authors. To support the editorial, peer-review, and publishing process, we set a publication fee (Article Processing Charge/APC) of 500 IDR. This fee is used to support various aspects of publication, including the peer-review process by reviewers, journal system management, article editing and formatting, as well as maintaining open access for readers. We strive to provide inclusive access to publication. Therefore, fee reductions or waivers may be available for authors from certain institutions or based on editorial considerations.

User Rights

All articles published with Open Access will be immediately and permanently free for everyone to read and download. We continue to work with our community of authors to select the best licensing options, which for this journal is currently set as follows: Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0 International (CC-BY-SA).

Manuscript Preparation Guidelines

These guidelines serve as a reference for preparing manuscripts for publication in the Journal of Islamic Studies. The guidelines can be accessed through the official website: https://ejournal.stitbima.ac.id/index.php/fitua/authorguideline.  Authors are allowed to modify these references for publication purposes. A unique feature of the opening paragraph in this journal is the use of capital letters, such as "Author Guidelines" in the first line of this paragraph, which is not indented and aligns with the left margin.

Articles submitted to this journal must be written in Indonesian with a minimum word count of 6,000–10,000 words and submitted online via the website. Authors must log in to request publication. Online registration is free of charge.

This journal is based on ten themes:

Submitted articles must be the original work of the author, free from plagiarism, and have not been published in any scientific journal or other books.

Structural Design

Articles must be preceded by a title, followed by the author's ID, abstract, keywords, and article content. The article content consists of an introduction, discussion, conclusion, and bibliography. The introduction and discussion are not mandatory; authors may directly mention the title and subheadings of the discussion.

Title

The research title must be concise and informative, using a maximum of 15 words and without acronyms. The topic should be current and relevant.

Author Identity

The author's name should be written without an academic title but must include identity, institutional affiliation, email address, and a contact number that is accessible for correspondence purposes before and after publication.

Abstract

The abstract should be written in two languages: Indonesian and English, with a maximum of 150-200 words. The English abstract should briefly describe the research problem and objectives, methodology used, research results, and conclusions. For conceptual or scholar-thought articles, the abstract should include the main issues discussed, implications or findings, how the issues are analyzed, and key points answering the discussed problem. The abstract should be written in Times New Roman 11, exactly 12, with spacing before 6 pt and after 6 pt.

Keywords

Keywords should consist of general and plural terms, with 3 to 5 words. Acronyms should be used effectively (legal abbreviations used in the relevant field). These keywords will be used for indexing. Written in Times New Roman 11, exactly 12, with spacing before 6 pt and after 6 pt.

Introduction

The manuscript body should use Times New Roman font, 12, exactly 20 spacing. The Introduction title should be written without A. or 1., and other section titles should be written similarly. The introduction includes an explanation of the research's urgency, research objectives, and a summary of theoretical studies, gaps, and novelty.

Theoretical Framework

This section contains the main relevant theory used and is presented without using letter (A) or number (1) numbering. (This point is applicable for qualitative, quantitative, mixed-method research but not for literature review research.)

Research Methodology

This section contains the research methodology used. Authors are advised to detail the methodology comprehensively, including: 1) Research type (qualitative, quantitative, or mixed-method), 2) Data sources/population and sample, 3) Data collection techniques, 4) Data analysis techniques.

Results and Discussion

This section may be divided into several subtopics as needed but should include: 1) Relevant main theory (for Literature Review), 2) Presentation of research data descriptively and/or in tables, graphs, or diagrams (if any), 3) Interpretation of findings, 4) Comparison with previous research, 5) Research implications.

Conclusion

This section contains the main conclusions based on research findings, research implications, and recommendations for future research.

Blibliography

The reference list should include all cited references, with a minimum of 30 references from the last five years. Preferably, 80% should be from accredited journals and 20% from reputable international journals. References must be cited using Mendeley or Zotero in APA Style 7th edition.
