Use of Generative AI
FiTUA: JURNAL STUDI ISLAM has issued a clear online statement regarding the use of Generative Artificial Intelligence (GenAI) in the scientific publication process. Through policies and guidelines openly communicated on the journal's official website, FiTUA emphasizes that the use of AI-based technology can be done in a limited, responsible, and transparent manner, particularly as a tool to assist in language editing, improving writing style, or enhancing the readability of manuscripts. However, the journal emphasizes that GenAI should not be used to generate primary scientific substance, research data, or academic analysis, as scientific responsibility remains entirely with the author.
The online statement also underlines the author's obligation to disclose the use of GenAI if the technology is used in the manuscript writing process. This policy is in line with the principles of academic integrity, scientific originality, and international publication ethics. With this statement, FiTUA demonstrates its commitment to responding to developments in digital technology in an adaptive manner without neglecting scientific standards, so that the use of GenAI is directed as an ethical support tool, not a substitute for the intellectual role of the author.
